No beans here Jim - I slept so badly, still hearing buzzing in my head and feeling vibrations through my body. The man is still here but it's quiet work today and finish and we can put the house back together. As DM(US) said yesterday, it's horrible having the house upside down and noisy workmen around. But you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs, etcI should add that the wood which has been laid so far looks fantastic, so it will all be worthwhile
I'm on my own (with the floor man) for the majority of the day, so I guess I won't be doing anything very exciting. I'll have to tailor my dog walk time to suit him then later it will be back into *Pickfords mode

Morning All. Another grey and overcast day again today with a temperature of 1.8c. The gas company are digging up the street putting in a new gas main and we have been warned that the gas will need to be turned off. So no CH or fire, or cooking whilst they are working. There are about a dozen men, plus six vehicles blocking the street. I can't understand why they need so many. It seems the drivers just sit in them all day, keeping warm
