hello from zuludog!
Hello!I was born in 1950, and have looked at a few over 50s websites & forums, but have settled on this one.
I worked for years on the technical side of food manufacture, progressing from technician to supervisor to project leader, but was made redundant at 48.
Then there was diabetes and depression, and I was unemployed for quite a long time, but eventually found a job as a chef
I claim a couple of private/occupational pensions and a couple of years or so ago I worked out that if I gave up my car and used my bus pass I could afford to retire early, which I did at the end of 2011.
I am married but separated, though we are still on good terms and keep in regular contact. We have two adult children and one grandson.
My hobbies are hillwalking & backpacking; making model planes, the plastic kits; and making knives and their sheaths. I used to be quite keen on car mechanics but got too fat & old to lie on my back on the concrete any more.

Our dog is a German Wire Haired Pointer. My wife fell for him when he was a puppy; the breeder had already named him 'Zulu'.
