Very impressive but a thorough grounding in life drawing is the best way to begin.
Gimmicks come later woops ... that should have read 'techniques'

I knew someone that did Pastel drawings and did commissions for a few people. I have two of her drawings that i won at the Golf Club when i use to play.
This person is very good to get the likeness of the subject this is fantastic!

its made to look so easy, but must have took an age to build the colour up to the right shade .
its good .

Plus several years of Art school training ... and then some, I should imagine
