I've been too busy to have one of those days Julie. The wife has the flu since Friday and I've been looking after her and doing the shopping, she's not a very good patient. She had a very heavy cold a couple of months ago but this is the real flu, there is a particularly bad strain of it doing the rounds in Dublin at the moment, a lot of folks are getting it who already had the flu injection, anyway I think she's over the worst and is on her feet again today. It's just a matter of time now until I get it, but as usual I'll suffer in silence.

Sorry to hear about Phyllis Jem I hoe she is better soon .

You may have missed this thread Jem, there was a mix up with the flu vaccination this year..

Thanks Meg I did miss that thread. My daughter works in the civil service and she was telling us about the folks who got the jab in her workplace and still were out with the flu, they all have it done in work, ’The jab in the job’ you could say.

One of the journalists in the DM even wrote an article saying how he'd been poleaxed by this particular nasty virus (the one I had).

I had the jab but was still very ill last November, and again in December. Felt I was trying to shake it off for over 2 months.
