Helping your kids

It said on the radio yesterday, that 'A survey' revealed that parents spend around 35 billion pounds a year bailing their children out of their problems! That's an incredible amount isn't it.
Do you bail your kids out still?

That may be nigh on impossible.

Yes. I enjoy doing it though. They'll get nowt when I've popped my clogs, so I like to help them out now.

Re: Helping your kids

We don't help with money but they know we will make a bed available if they need it and they can always get a hot meal if they want.

I also seem to still be doing one of the boys washing which will stop as soon as he gets a machine.

Mind you if we had money we would be giving it if they needed it, and I know they would do the same for us and each other.

Re: Helping your kids

I don't need to help with finance, they are doing very well but I do help with babysitting, cooking and sewing .

In return my son helps me by contributing to the house repairs and he paid for my last little car.

Yes I have always helped (not bailed) my daughter out in whatever way I can, both financially and in other ways. She doesn't take my help for granted and always appreciates it.

Re: Helping your kids

We help out if needs be but it is a very rare occasion we are asked. Our help these days comes in the form of air fares to come to us for a holiday, this takes the place of birthday and Christmas presents and is what my son and his wife really appreciate.
