Re: Head and Shoulders

I think if you are brought up with elderly relatives very much in evidence it has the effect of making you older than your years an 'old head on young shoulders' .

Similarly my youngest granddaughter now aged 3 has spent a lot of time with me from being a tiny baby, she definitely has has an old head and is both bossy and wise

I think you are right there Meg, our youngest grandson won't be two until March but already He's doing a great job of learning the two languages, Italian and English, switches from one to the other no bother, Italian to his mother and English to his father and us. I said to him the other day to walk like his nanny and up he stands, hunches his little back, smiles and off he walks with a stoop, Phyllis hasn't got a stoop but I think his little mind links it to anyone old, she and me were in fits of laughing.

No, but I've seen plenty of blokes who act like they've got a young head on old shoulders.
