Tom Weir

Taken yesterday at Balmaha on Loch Lomond. A life sized statue of Tom. A man who saw the beauty of Scotland in his own eyes. Through walking and hiking. I hope to see even a small piece of what he's witnessed over the years. So delighted to see a statue in his name.

I passed through that village some 31 years ago when I walked the West Highland Way. I do remember that the stretch along the east side of Loch Lomond was the hardest bit on the whole walk.

Alan, I've only done parts of the way so far. I agree about East.

What amazes me is the fact there are visitors from the world, all year round. The hardy ones will be doing the whw now!
