GB Place names - not as we know them

I hope our American members take this as intended as I am sure if I was asked to say American place names I would have similar problems but this made me smile and I hope it makes you all smile too.

We have Milngavie. Pronounced Mil guy. Wemyss Bay is Weems Bay. Culzean is cull ain.

Lots of people find the Scottish language difficult to understand.

My friend has a cottage in Crovie, and yes, she says Crivie!

There was a terrible loss of an occupant there last year, both she and her dog burned to death . My friend was so sad about it.
