Pathetic Council
Within 5 minutes walk from our home there is a block of flats that used to be an office block.This block sat empty for years when the owners moved to more expansive premises.
A local developer bought the building and converted it into 23 flats and were going to be leased to Luton Council but our council stepped in and MK Council secured the flats for local people.
The three year lease is about to expire and instead of just going ahead our council demanded Planning Gain Payments of £125,000.
The developer / owner says MK Council still owes them £400,000 for the "Dilapidation Claim" of 2012 so they say that if they continue to quibble they'll offer the flats to Luton again instead!
23 families could be out on the street in March over this nonsense and it seems to be due to a spat between the two main factions in our hung council, Labour & Conservatives, who both have just over 29% - how pathetic can you get?! stevmk2
