I'm deaf but my wife would love to go out and dance and have fun with people our own age and I'd happily take her, even if i had to turn off my hearing aids most of the night AND learn to dance!
That'd be difficult because I cannot follow a tune now - it all sounds the same to me but if it made my wife happy I'd go for it!
I know some would think me daft but for a deaf man married to a normal-hearing woman I get a great deal of pleasure seeing a smile on her face.
About 15 years ago someone I knew told me that had financial backing to start a new nightclub for the over 30s with a small casino on-site but MK Council knocked it back - three times.
Now we have a casino in MK but we still only have clubs for those 18 - 25's that want to get drunk as quickly as possible, clog-up the city centre, take all the coppers off the rest of MK's streets and fill-up A&E every Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Why is it then, these days, that once you pass 40 you become a non-person to the
entertainment business and are constantly accused of clogging-up A&E and causing hardship to younger generations?
I don't remember this antipathy when I was 20, 30 or 40 - do you? stevmk2
