Re: Domestic God or not?

There was a time when i did everything in the house ,garden ,cooking and my husband didnt lift a finger ,even when i went to work ,and he was home first ,he would be waiting at the door for me to come home and his greeting would be "im starving what you got to eat" ,and the times id be laid up sick ,and id get up come down stairs and again he would ask "what am i doing for dinner ." . There came a point where i had a break down, and he had to look after himself ,He had to ask how the washing machine worked, what temperature to cook on ,bit by bit he was shown ,Now he can cook ,and do most domestic things round the house .which im pleased about.Ive made sure my son can do for himself everyday chores.

I always say my father was a role model-a lazy, smelly really nasty piece of shit-I just observed and did the opposite.

My husband can cook, iron and use the vacuum cleaner but that's it. No idea how the washing machine works and DIY, forget it!!

Re: Domestic God or not?

Washing machines are dead easy 40C for a general wash,60C eco mode for the bedding and delicates for my jumpers. Clean the filter now and again and sometimes add calgon. I have been widowed for over 4 years.

Sod DIY though

Re: Domestic God or not?

My partner and I both have our own places. He is very tidy and is a great cook. He'll cook for me when I'm at his and I'll cook when he's at mines. We share the tasks

I couldn't be doing with running after someone these days.

Re: Domestic God or not?

My first Husband must have thought He'd married a slave,I can't recall Him ever making a cup of tea for Me even when I had 2 Toddlers and another on the way!...I blame the Mothers.... I made sure My Son learned how to tidy His room/wash dishes/iron/and make a basic meal just as His Sisters learned,it stood Him in good stead when He Married and had Children of His Own.
