What have you got ?

I think its true that things were made better years ago, I know I was - heard this morning of a lady that still uses her Christmas lights that she bought in Woolies 45 years ago - so, are you still using an appliance that's years old ?
I doubt there will be many answers as I was foolish to be rid of some of them ...........

Re: What have you got ?

I reluctantly let my ancient appliances go because I could no longer get the parts

I find the build quality of modern appliances is very poor..

Re: What have you got ?

I have a foot peddle sewing machine in a walnut cabinet that dates from 1890, I believe it came into the family from new. I also have a kenwood chef which is still in regular use from the 1930's. I have a few bits no longer work - egg beater from 1855 and a kettle from 1911 which we condemned years ago as dangerous but it is still here just can't find it n my heart to get rid of it.

Ah, but is he still in good working order?

I have nothing that's under 5yrs old as we completely refurbished a house we bought 5years ago and had all new stuff, none of it is as good as the stuff we got rid of..

My older sister has a Singer sewing machine she bought in 1965 and still works though she doesn't do much sewing nowadays.

Re: What have you got ?

My chest freezer is about 33 to 35 years old and still going strong. There is a bit of rust in the lid but otherwise it seems fine, it's been in use continuously since I bought it.

It's a Westinghouse 210 litre Chest Freezer, you can still get them
