Got a good nose?
We all know a dog's sense of smell is remarkable, but apparently several interesting research studies have shown that a familiar family scent - or "clan odour" as it is known, - is also part of human non-verbal communication.People can pick out clothes worn by their own family members by scent recognition alone - and this isn't disrupted by artificial perfumes - which you would think would mask the natural smell.
(Personally I think women are better at this than the males).
Do you think you could identify your "family scent"?

I have found since I got older my sense of smell has increased.I think you can smell people you know well as they are generally
with you along time. Also it has been proven that a lot of girls
living in the same house can actually trigger each other to menstruate
within a few days of each other. Even though they did not have the
same cycle before they lived in that house, which is a very ancient kind of smell from the past.
I find that I can spot smokers. The smell of smoke makes me gip
especially when you are walking down the street and get a gob full
as you walk past a smoker.
So I agree Mups my nose is very intune. Probably because I don't smoke.
