Scam warning

They phone you and ask if you have PPI claim or worked in a factory or several other things their number is 02035190692
When you ask to be taken off their calling list they get very abusive.

After the call when you try to use the phone you get an error message saying to ring 118 820. That call costs nearly £5 a minute plus £4.20 to connect you.

You don't have an error just put the phone down and try again it will work.

Thankfully I looked the number up before responding to the error message so lost nothing but it was very believable.

Re: Scam warning

You have to be very careful. A few years ago someone claiming to be from my bank phoned. They said they wanted to run through some personal details to check who I was. I replied, "you should know who I am, you phoned me". They got quite aggressive when I wouldn't give them any details. So I hung up.

Many years ago we were at the airport and there was a competition going on. So we started to enter, but stopped when they ask us to fill in our name and address. Did I have 'idiot' written on my forehead? Give someone my address just as I'm about to leave the house empty for a fortnight.

Anyone can get caught out though. Many years ago my boss was telephone scammed and had his details stolen. He was a Director of Finance.

Re: Scam warning

Yes that one would fool me, Steven often orders on line and uses my email address so I never know when to expect an email like that.

Re: Scam warning

I've had a lot of the scam emails about supposed orders too.
You have to be on the ball and be suspicious of everything until you are sure.
The problem is that you need to give your email address to do anything on line.

I must have a word with Steven then. But I'm sure Julie knows not to open suspicious attachments. I reckon she would check with Steven first if she wasn't sure.

ps...it's good that most of us are aware and can't be fooled by those crims. Unfortunately, they still catch a few unsuspecting victims.

Re: Scam warning

He doesn't read his emails is why he has them all sent to me, I weed out the important ones and make him read them. Other I discard so he doesn't have to bother with them. I added secretary to my job title a few years ago with a husband like mine
