I have tried a few over the years provided by clients never found one that did the job better than a dustpan and stiff brush.
I have heard good things about this one though I have never tried it so am not recommended as great http://www.gtechonline.co.uk/cordles...ld-vacuum.html

Thanks Julie I was set to get one of those then read some bad reviews saying that the work well for a few months then fail.
I use a dustpan and brush for various things including the car but as winter and serious chest infections are on the horizon I am hoping to cut down on dust with a little cleaner.

Re: Hand held cordless vacume cleaners.

We have to use a more powerful cleaner because of the dog hair so my husband takes it to the garage and pays to use their vacuum. Usually tops up with petrol and checks water and oil at the same time to kills several birds with one trip.

We do the same at the Tesco garage, a thorough clean twice a year, then the hand held in between times .....

I have one of theseĻ:

Black & Decker Pivot Dustbuster Handheld Vacuum Cleaner - 18 Volt

I find it very good, itīs quite powerful, the only problem is that it seems to run out of charge fairly quickly, but itīs excellent for jobs that donīt take too long.

I used to use a Dustbuster at work for dusting picture frames, it was good for that and lasted for years.
