Tesco

I've always been bit of a Tesco fan, they deliver to flats with no lifts, they have great cheap value products and the men who deliver the goods are cheerful and helpful. Substitutions are rare and usually fair.

So what has happened to them recently ?

Substitutions - sliced roast beef from the deli counter no so they send ........ tin of corned beef ?
Eggs no so they send ....... sugar ?
Ordering butter sorry you can't have 3 of those, no you can't have 3 of those either, yes you can have 3 of those but they are twice the price !
Ordering bakery multiseed bread no you can't have it on the day you want it, you can have the next day or the day before both cost more in delivery charges. Ordering any bakery bread ? no it's only delivered a couple of times a week.
Low calorie orange squash new improved flavour is undrinkably horrible.

Bakery problems are because they no longer have an in store bakery and are bringing stuff in from an outside bakery.

Other problems who knows I certainly can't figure it out.

Re: Tesco

We were ocado fans for years sadly an equivalent shop with them is nearly a third more expensive for us.

Re: Tesco

I haven't liked Tesco for years and never shop there. I used to shop at Sainsburys as I had one very near me but for the past 8 - 9 years I have used Morrisons. I am quite happy with Morrisons and they have dropped prices because of the Lidl competition. I can get everything I want and the quality is good. I especially like the quality of the cold meat etc at the deli counter, things like Yorkshire ham are especially good and I got some lovely cooked pork last week.

Re: Tesco

Strange you post that about Tesco today Julie, my wife has just been on the phone complaining about out of date soft drinks she bought the other day, she was furious as this has happened several times, she had poured a drink for the grandson and he complained about the taste and the colour, then she looked at the date on the bottle = July 2014. I mean who looks at the date on soft drinks?
“Every little helps” yes I agree, it helps them, and to hell with the rest of us.

Re: Tesco

We adore Tescos and never have any problems whether in store or online, but it sounds like local store is falling down on the job bigtime, maybe time to kick some butt methinks .

Re: Tesco

We avoid Tesco as much as possible these days for food shopping - far too many bad experiences over the years.

Found the remains of a mouse once in a loaf of bread and dessicated spider in a pack of rice!

OK, not their fault but their attitude at the time was damn rude!

Our local Tesco seems to employ only miserable or belligerent people!

However, occasionally they are good for some things!

We sometimes find the our local High Street shops don't have something we buy regularly and, so far, every time my wife tried Tesco she found what she wanted.

Today it was Flash with Bleach for £1. stevmk2

That's the thing we have noticed - lots of products past the sell by date - always check the dates now .......
