It's one those occasions in history that you know where you were when you heard. It was and still is beyond belief and those families, who lost dear ones, are still suffering.

I remember my late aunt who lived in Manhattan and could see the twin towers from her apartment, saying that my cousin and one of his work colleagues arrived at her door covered in dust and ash.

Some had luck on their side that day. RIP those who didn't.

Indeed may they rest in peace, I visited the 9/11 memorial site a couple of years ago.

When the weather is like it is today with clear blue skies it's even more of a reminder.

I went out on top of the Twin Towers, in the days when you could still go out onto a narrow walkway at the top. The size was incredible and the absolutely huge concourse underneath the buildings, with Palm Trees, makes you realise how incredible it was that a plane could demolish them as they were gigantic structures.

RIP to all those who lost their lives so needlessly and thinking of those left behind.

Re: Poor Souls of 9/11 RIP

I think for me a part of my heart broke to see such an awful site as
those towers falling down knowing all those poor people were in it.
I didn't know anyone personally who died but I do know my sons friend
was on his way to work. He watched it across the river as all the traffic had
been stopped from going over the bridges and ferries. He said
he hasn't really gotten over watching it even now.
