And now back to bed.

I know a `stiff neck` is not life threatening but it bleeding well hurts. No sleep last night so I `m away to try now.

Re: And now back to bed.

Oh dear, so sorry to hear of the pain for you both. Hope you did manage
to get some sleep and pain relief.
Stiff necks generally mean you have a muscle in spasm near the neck
in your back or in the neck itself. Get someone to feel your back below
the neck probably in the shoulder. You cant miss a muscle in spasm as
it feels like a lump. Needs rubbing gently in a circular motion. Its
normally got lactic acid surrounding it and the motion of rubbing it breaks
down the acid which is like a sugar coating that hardens.
Hope it gets better soon.
Dear Patsy, I know you have mentioned you are in pain
sometimes too but I don't know why, is it too personal
to mention on here? If so you can tell me on a PM if
you feel you need to chat. Take care x

Have you tried putting a wee light scarf on? The warmth can ease it.

Well I hope you've managed to get some sleep Older git. No a stiff neck may not be life threatening, but it can be very painful and debilitating.

Hope you are feeling a little better now.

Sorry to hear about your neck - sometimes I've found a cold pack, followed by a heat pack can help.
Hope it's better soon.
You too Patsy.

Good advice Stephan - its a miserable condition ........
Let us know how you are .....
Thanks all for your wishes, its not gonna be a good day for me, ear pain started last night and I had to get up and stay awake. Its like something pressing on an open wound and radiates to the neck, jaw and head - truly awful ...... I should be used to it - but its just too bad to get used to .....

I'm sorry Patsy.
I wish there was something that could help with the pain.
Maybe some hugs will help you though?
Consider them sent.

Re: And now back to bed.

How weird...I was awake just around 3.15 or so and had such bad hip pain I couldn't go back to sleep, so I know just what you all went through. After 2 hours I'd had enough so took 2 paracetamols and managed to get another 3 hours.

I lay on my side and that's where the hip pain is, each side. Can't lay on my back or stomach, so I have no choice but to take pain killers.

Hope those of you in pain feel better soon. Suffering during the night is no fun.
