Free as a Bird

Raptors and Owls for me are the avian masters of flight. Never easy to photograph in the wild, but always a joy to see.

Before i was into photography i had a couple of sites where i would go in Spring to watch these cracking birds, one of which would surprise people as it was not supposed to exist except at one site. Kept quite to protect it from Egg collectors.

I hate to see these wonderful birds held captive, they should be free as a bird.

Osprey

Common Buzzard.

Little Owl.

Kestrel.

Peregrine.

Short-eared owl.

Sparrowhawk.

Barn Owl.

Re: Free as a Bird

I love to see birds of prey-oK the `thump` when they hit another bird is not easy listening. We now have red kites around and they are magnificent-not too brave though. I saw one recently chased off by a couple of blackbirds.
