Roll Of Honour

For those that lost Family fighting in WW1 ,The Tower of London are reading names out that are submitted to them .It opens for a short while while names are collected , and reopens for more names ..

I saw it on FB ancestry ,those that have had their name read get a email , and another said it is on youtube each reading .
The Poppies represent each Soldier that is named , ive submitted Two Gt Uncles ,,Brothers who lost their lives a year after each other.seeing the flow of Poppies grow i find very moving ..

Thanks for telling us. My Great Uncle also died in WW1.
It was the 26th April 1918. So a few months more he
might have been safe. Bless him RIP Walter.

Ive had a email this. Morning telling me the names i submitted will be read out on September4th at 7.30 pm,..these were two brothers who left their village with another brother and Brother in law,only one returned ,it shattered their family and their mother never locked the door again in the hope they would return one day ..

During the Centenary period, the name of each of the 62,000 Australians who gave their lives during the First World War will be projected onto the façade of the Hall of Memory at the Australian War Memorial. The names will be displayed from sunset to sunrise every night, and can be seen from the Memorial’s grounds. Each name will be visible for 30 seconds.

This special commemoration runs from 4 August 2014 until 11 November 2018. During this period, the entire set of 62,000 names will be displayed about 30 times.
