Thunderstorms and PC's

Do any of you switch off your computer when there is a thunderstorm? I always do even though I have a surge-protector.

I don't Stella - it has never occurred to me to do so ... perhaps I should?

Yes, I always turn it off although hubby leaves his on unless it's really bad.

No I just unplug my laptop from the mains and use it on battery if I need to.

I switch the desk top PC off and revert to laptop - it runs on the dreaded windows 8 - so it is a pain!

Re: Thunderstorms and PC's

The storm has been very feeble here in London. I do have my desktop pc on (idle while eating my roast lunch) but haven't thought of switching off just yet.

Just had another short downpour, with heavy wind and one clap of thunder, and it's settled down again.

No, I never have. I've seen very few thunderstorms here - maybe something to do with the geography of the area.

It's been dry so far today. I got the grass cut this morning.

Re: Thunderstorms and PC's

Thanks everyone. Guess what - I had to switch off because we had another thunderstorm. I can see I will have to invest in a laptop. The sun is out here now - very weird weather.
