Vibrant!

Is there a word more over-used than this one?!

London is 'vibrant'.
My home town is 'vibrant'.
Even the forest tea hut in my locality is 'vibrant', threatened with closure and described as thus in my local paper by a protester.

I've just heard it on BBC telly.

I'm sick to death of the word and don't even know what it means!!! Stop using it, please...

I think it means pulsating with energy - but I could be wrong.

As you say - it is grossly overused and I would not be surprised if it means something entirely different in today's world of text speak etc., etc.,

I'm relieved to see it's not just me picking up on these over-used words or even phrases Jazzi!

Although it's not actually a word, lately I've noticed "DNA" added to all sorts of mundane subjects; almost as bad as "National Treasure" we keep hearing - how can EVERYTHING be a National Treaure?!

I really hated the habit the media had of adding 'gate' to every scandal that comes along - Camilla Gate or Plebgate but long before that there was the habit of adding a
the number of defendants in criminal cases - like the Guildford Four or more recently, the Bradford Three! stevmk2
