Highway

Does Britain have one highway that would run through the whole country?
We have the Trans Canada Highway which is called various names in different cities but it's still the Trans Canada Highway.

No we don't AC. We have a network of motorways radiating from London. The M1 runs North, the M2 towards Dover and the Channel, M3 to Southampton, M4 to Wales and so on.

I've visited Canada a couple of times, and travelled on the Trans Canada Highway - it has such a romantic ring to it

Australia does, Highway 1 which joins all the state capitals on the mainland and basically circumnavigates the continent. At about 15000km it is easily the longest National highway in the world.

It has various names in different states (Bruce, Pacific, Princes etc) and in places has been bypassed in importance for example by the Hume Highway (31) between Sydney and Melbourne but it is still there and still Hwy 1

The longest road we have here is the A1, which connects London and Edinburgh, and is a motorway in some parts.
