Ford KAs with dents in rear panels

In 1996 the wife bought a new Ford KA, after owning any given vehicle you tend to take more notice of others of the same ilk on the road, well although she has long parted with hers we continue to spot them for one reason only, at least one in four has a dirty great dent in either of the rear quarter panels just behind the door, and we could never work out why?. It is a small car so maneuvering should not be a problem, why should there be such an high incidence of this localised damage?.

Do they have a parking sensor ? ford had problems with their parking sensors on some vehicles a couple of years ago basically didn't work very well.

Not on the cheap and cheerful MK1's which are the ones that seem to attract this damage, hers did not even have power steering, the wife and I used to muse that there must be some clandestine KA Kicking Club.

Loathe to say it but some of the worst parking I see is small cars, perhaps they just are not good parkers, I am saying this from a position of being a terrible parker myself so no offense meant to anyone else. I have always driven big cars and have to chose my parking spaces with great care to make sure I don't look a twit.
