The other day I had a nice day out with another Over50's forum member - Eliza. I managed to make a slide show on photobucket. Hope it works (touch wood)

Wow I remember the Dolly in our kitchen when I was young.
Great day out now in Nottingham. Love the Castle and the view.
Next week they have the Beach in the Market Square for the school
holidays You need to come back and have a look at that its great.
Plus you can get a deck chair and sit near the beach and get a
candyfloss.

Very interesting Carol - love the old buildings, a real sense of days gone by.... not too sure about the prison bath!!

Lovely photos and being a Nottingham girl brought back lots of memories. I seem to remember that on the road at the back of the jail there was a small arched doorway which I think was used to bring the prisoners back to the jail after they'd appeared in the dock. Engraved on the arch of the doorway was the word GAOL .... whoever had carved it didn't know how to spell!
