Farne Islands.

At this time of year the Farne Islands in Northumberland are a birdwatchers and photographers paradise.

Puffin with sand eels.



Arctic Tern, known locally as the sea swallow.



Arctic Tern chick, you have to watch where you are putting your feet as these guys are everywhere underfoot.

Very noisy indeed all part of the enjoyment.

I remember going there many years ago ...........and being dive bombed by the terns. Nice little video Nom.

I enjoyed that. It was well put together.
Some serious cameras and lenses there! But that's how you get those great pictures I guess!!
I noticed how everybody was wearing hats. No clue why! Ha! I'm sure there were a few poop stories though!

I too had never heard of the Farne Islands. Will look them up. Amazing what is on your door step and you don't know about.
