Well now it's this man's turn.I can't understand this woman who says he abused her for 10 or 16 years (depends on which report you read).
If it really did start at 13, (he says 18), either way she would have been a grown woman well into her 20's, maybe nearer 30 even, when it was still going on, so why didn't she stop it by then? I find it hard to believe a woman of that age is still as in awe of him as she was as a 13 year old child.
If, in the beginning she was scared of him, I'm damn sure if it had been me, I sure as hell would have made sure I was never alone with him again, or even anywhere near him, even if I was too scared to actually tell him where to go. It's not as if she lived in the same house and couldn't avoid him surely.
To still allow him to "abuse" her so many years later, as an adult, I just can't imagine.
(I've spelt Rolf wrong, but it won't let me remove the "e")!

if I had been 'in awe' of him as a child and didn't like what he was doing to me I would have put a stop to it when I got older. This is not like the sort of situation where a child is abused by a family member and can't do anything for fear of destroying the family...
The whole think is very odd. I still equate Rolf with the Animal Hospital, he really didn't seem the kind of person who would abuse and lack empathy with children when he was so in tune with animals.

But he has admitted to a relationship with a very young woman (to whom he has apologised) who was 18 to his 56 but with whom we know he had a "friendship" from her being 13 and thousands of pornographic images were found on his computer. I think there's enough smoke there to believe there could be a fire.Often in the 60s girls were brought up to keep quiet about these things and he was a powerful figure who they knew would be believed before them and who had the power to make them keep silent. Sometimes these things haunt people all their adult lives until something or someone triggers them to talk about it.
I worked with abused girls and they can be afraid to say anything for decades.
When you think of all the other highly "respectable" men who have been found guilty of similar things, I now am inclined to believe any man is capable of it

Likewise I don't understand how a 'starry eyed girl' could still be submitting to the will of another as a grown woman...

I remember over 30 years ago hearing about Rolf. A person who worked where I did had some connection with the TV Company in my city.She was a Secretary and the Company I worked for provided props.
She met Rolf and quite a few stars of the time. I said to her Oh Rolf
I think he is really nice and love to see him painting and doing his
silly tunes. She said he isn't that nice you know. I said why, She said
he came slinking over to me in the studio and started chatting me up, even though I knew he was married, and then started mauling me and I had to tell him to stop touching me or else I would tell my boss
I am talking about a few decades ago and I was shocked about it then.
It still keeps in my mind that he would do such a thing so wasn't surprised
with the latest Court case.
I also don't understand your question Mups how someone abused when
younger doesn't run a mile when they are old enough to do so. It seems
this girl was his daughters best friend and he started an affair with her
by being in close proximity with her and his daughter. These men are manipulative as mentioned and we don't know what bribery was given
to keep control of her. Until it comes out in Court who knows what the
threat was. I think the saying is They wear you down.
