Judging

Do you have to put up with 'classes' in the UK (any other countries too)?

In Canada it's not a prevalence to be judged whether you're middle class, lower class, upper middle class & if you should be so lucky, high class.

Of course there's low income, high income, etc. but that's more if you're filling out forms & you have to fill in one of those brackets.

India for one has their caste system, just wondering about the UK.

Yes sadly we do, some will say not but if you actually look around it's still here.

Re: Judging

I can't say I've noticed AC.
We have poor people who can't speak properly, and rich well educated people. But class barriers are an old fashioned concept I believe.

'Poor people who cant speak proper' !!
We weren't all born with plums in our mouths no - don't mean we are dirt poor either ......
Even Thatcher had to 'learn' to speak 'proper'

Maybe where you are Janela that's the case but I couldn't honestly says that that's the case where I live nor anywhere in the Milton Keynes area for that matter.

The class system still exists for those immediately affected by it.

If you're not affected or it's not noticeable to you then, to my way of thinking, you obviously reside in the more privileged classes areas rather than areas where they are likely to be a general, wide-spread mix of people, ranging from those unfortunate enough to have to survive on Benefits to those that can easily manage private education for their offspring for example.

Claiming that class barriers are an old-fashioned concept does not mean they do not exist. stevmk2

Re: Judging

Well just owning the horse would be out of the question for most I would imagine. But it's not even about money, it's education, jobs open to you and way you dress IMO
