Flashers

They were out in force again on Sunday, you are driving along, it is a pleasant spring day, moderate sunshine, good visibility, without warning it goes dull and overcast, slight drizzle, 9 out of 10 drivers rush to put on their dip beam lights, although visibility is still good which is their prerogative. Out of the drivers who chose to light up, about 25% flash me because I haven't joined the light up gang, I say to this group "Bugger off", I will decided when visibility is bad enough to warrant lighting up, stop trying to enlighten me, mind your own business.

Re: Flashers

It's always a problem making that judgement, but the problem as I see it is that when visibility is deteriorating and some drivers turn on their lights, then it makes any cars without lights even harder to see. Although personally I don't flash other drivers I do struggle to understand the reticence of some to turn their lights on sooner rather than later, it's really not as though it costs anything.

Re: Flashers

When I see people with their lights on I tend to think they can't see so well so put mine on to be safer. Even if I can see perfectly well perhaps they can't. As plantman said it doesn't cost anything.

It's all about being seen to others Julie, and nothing to do with how well you can see...

Then I must have misunderstood your post, but having read it again it says the same thing to me.

I put my lights on so they can see me even if I can see them.

Re: Flashers

I may be wrong but in the U.S.A. you have to put your lights on if it's raining. I put mine on if visibility is not good for any reason, it's common sense.
