Technophobia!

This week we had our youngest grand child staying overnight and, as that age group seem to be so clued-up, she mentioned the set-up of our TV.

We had the SKY broadcast - and other that went off the screen, despite my trying to work out why and she commented on that.

Tinkering about today I could not work out how to change it until I thought " Maybe I can change the SKY Settings?"

Of course, navigating through SKY's SETTINGS is a minefield unless you know how to access some settings - which I do - so, after fiddling for 5 mins trying to work out how to get to the right Menu, I hit two buttons in exasperation that brought it up!

TV now set up properly - at last - and my wife's saying "Why didn't you look at that before?" stevmk2

Never ceases to amaze me why people associate deafness with stupidity.........stevmk2

I know how you feel I have a bit of a drunken look apparently when my MS strikes so people think I have been drinking wouldn't mind but I have been tea total for many years.

I find reading the manuals don't help much they all seem to be written in gobbledegook.

That's true too!

The problem is that manufacturers of all the latest widgets automatically assume that we ALL have a certain level of knowledge when it comes to electronics.

I was quite well-up on all things electronic / computerised but I was in jobs that dealt with technology all the time so you learn as you adapt.

Take that away and the old memory starts to mix things up and hey-presto, you're an old git who can't even set-up a 'phone!! stevmk2
