The Lottery

Do any of you buy a lottery ticket or scratchcards? I've never ever bought either.

Nor me, the wife buys the odd scratchcard and does the lottery in the bookies where the odds are better for getting up two, three, and four numbers, get four up and your into the thousands for your quid stake, lots of women doing the numbers in the bookies now, far better value if you don't want to be a millionaire but like the occasional win.

Re: The Lottery

I occasionally buy a lottery ticket whenever I'm in the newsagents but only ever buy a scratch card to put in greetings cards.

I sell plenty though in the store. There are several customers who are addicted to the scratch cards and think nothing of buying several £5 and £10 ones.

I've lost count of the number of customers I serve who promise me a cut if they ever win!!! I keep smiling at them, living in hope of course, but in 8 years I'm still waiting!!

You never know CC, luck is a strange thing, hang in there who knows.
Yes I know a few folks addicted to the scratchcards, in and out of the shop and back into the pub scratching like they had the mange.

Re: The Lottery

Same here Meg. Son's neighbour who is a single mum on benefits buys scratchcards regularly. Don't know how she affords it.

Re: The Lottery

A long time ago I did, perhaps I was more hopeful then?
Like Meg said, won't waste my (husband's) hard earned money.

Years ago I was in a syndicate at work on the football pools - heck that was donkeys years ago. We never had a big win though.

Yes, that was when permutations mattered.

Re: The Lottery

I have a dream. it involves a lottery win and an island away from the rest of the human race. Building a reserve for wildlife and nature.
