Plumbing

I am no plumber but I fixed the bath mixer shower tap yesterday, was getting grief because the females couldn't wash their hair, here is the mixer.

So I took it apart and there was an O ring perished so I went to the local handyman's shop and bought this

Now it works perfectly and the ladies are happy again,To replace the taps with a new one would have been £50 and a plumber to fit it (too awkward for me) at least another £50.

Cost of the O ring £0.25 Pence. and now I am happy too

Re: Plumbing

Well done Al
I would recommend anyone with old taps hangs on to them as long at they can.
Many of the newer ones are rubbish , the chrome wears off in no time to reveal the base metal beneath.

Re: Plumbing

I need a washer replaced in my hot water tap in the bathroom sink. I've had a look online and watched a Youtube video. Now all I need to do is locate the switch to turn off the hot water supply (no, it's not underneath the basin), and might give it a go myself.

I mean (in the words of Jeremy Clarkson...) how hard can it be?!
