The Joy of Getting Old.

Do you grunt when getting in or out of a chair? If so, does it help ?

Re: The Joy of Getting Old.

No, but I sometimes grunt reading some posts on certain forums .

Not true come to think of it. I notice I have started grunting when bending down at times . I think it does help too - empties your lungs maybe allowing more movement?

I get stiff at times for sure and sometimes it is because I haven't run believe it or not. I have to stretch my legs extremely hard with some rope to free up my hamstrings at times else they can play havoc with my back. This has lessened though as I now run less so it isn't so much a problem as it used to be.

I make sure my stomach muscles are strong at all times as it is all too easy to pull your back out and lets face it back pain is absolutely terrible.

Re: The Joy of Getting Old.

There's a very simple answer - do as I have done and buy a riser/recliner chair which then eliminates the need to grunt descending into or rising from the chair. - simple!!!
