Child Cruelty

Did anyone see in the news story about the man who forced his two year old stepson to swallow more than 30 sewing needles to "punish" his nagging wife? What kind of man could do that?
The boy was taken to hospital and it was found 2 needles had punctured his heart and he needed 3 life-saving operations to save him, but he survived and is now healthy and well again, and living in Brazil.
The man was convicted of attempted murder and black magic rituals and was jailed for 12 years.

Surely there must be some sort of defect in some people's brains to behave like that?

People such as this man who can harm children in any way are just evil.

I can't see how an adult could swallow needles, let alone a 2 year old.
Hope that bloke gets his just desserts from other Dad's in jail.

Some folk seemingly have no sense of right or wrong. Doctors should be allowed to work on him to find out what has gone wrong in his brain.

I agree Alan, a mental problem that means they have no empathy for anyone. Usually find they start on animals as children and build up to children and sometimes adults.

I don't know the laws over there but if punishments were harsher for animal cruelty I have a feeling it might catch a few of these people earlier.

Cruelty to children is one of the worst crimes in my book, how anyone can harm a defenseless innocent youngster is beyond my understanding.
