Whatever your opinion of him, 52 is very young.

He fought hard for his members and was admired as much by them as he was by his 'enemies'

Very sad no age at all, did a great job for his workers, I hope the right wingers treat this death better than some left wingers treated Lady Thatcher's death though I am not holding my breath on that one sadly.

He did much for the trade union movement .but a bit of a dinosaur I feel .

The papers showed two photographs, one of him back in '92 young and oh so slim, and the other a more recent one of him fat and bloated. Made me think it was a perfect illustration of the phrase, "living off the fat of the land".

Yup Jazzi, that's the one. Considered himself a working class man of the people, unless of course those people were actually trying to GET to work!

His only job was to keep his workers happy and healthy he did that very well. It wasn't his fault the rest of us are not represented as well.
