A Dad's Love

I saw this little piece in the paper today:

"Imagine you only had months to live. That you'd miss your children growing up.
Garth Callaghan thought about that. He has terminal cancer. So he has written 826 notes on napkins for daughter Emma to read each day until she graduates from high school. She'll have a daily bit of advice from her late Dad in her lunch box. My favourite is: "Everything in moderation, except awesome. You can never have too much awesome".
What a wonderful way of providing food for thought.

That's so sad but also so wonderfully inspiring.

What a wonderful and touching idea. I cannot imagine not having been able to watch my daughter grow up, it would be awful, truly awful.

Re: A Dad's Love

What a lovely sentiment and well done to him. I believe some fathers don't get half the credit they deserve. The best compliment paid to me was from my two children when they reached 21, my daughter gave me a letter in the middle of the party we were having then she rushed off, I opened it and only a few words were written on a sheet of paper "Thank you dad for making me all that I am", my son said something similar on his 21st, both of them made me the happiest man on earth.

"Confucius", that made me laugh Barry.

Re: A Dad's Love

I wonder if it was a good idea, she will never settle it in her head that he has gone, every time she reads one it will bring it all back to her maybe. Sorry.
