Re: Another certificate

Sadly so many jobs they advertise do not even exist so TBH I am not overly surprised

I really hope you do find something but having been looking myself now for well over a year I am coming to the conclusion I will just have to accept I am no longer employable. Luckily I still have two part time jobs so I have something but it looks like this is it for now.

Re: Another certificate

Dont wait for jobs to be advertised, be proactive and search out company's that use Forklifts. Then send them your CV,or even better hand deliver it, and follow up politely maybe with another visit, phone call or letter. Once they become used to you it can pay dividends.

Hear Hear, written applications put you on the same footing as every other applicant of whom there may be dozens. Far better to go to every firm you can, ask if they have vacancies and offer your CV/phone etc if one comes up and, as you say, keep going back.

One of my sons did this and got a job after three days (in an area where youth unemployment is 25%). You send 38 hours a week working so spending less than half that time out on the street actively looking doesn't seem too hard to me rather than sitting at home waiting.
