We are not amused

My two little elves, very unimpressed with their new outfits.

Re: We are not amused

Apart from the outfits being, shall we say festive, they are used. Both dogs wear 'coats' when it is cold here, and it does get cold. Muffin (white) wears his all day when it's cold because he has a hip problem and his little back end must be kept warm. However I always take a 'Christmas' photo of them but oh how they hate being made to sit still for a few minutes.

Aww they look gorgeous ! As to dressing up if a dog needs a coat or t shirt for health or warmth no point in not enjoying the occasion and making it fun.

I always think people who disapprove have never had an allergic dog or dog that feels the cold because idea of mine being cold or itchy has always made me dash to knit a jumper/buy a t shirt or coat.

I'm another that doesn't like to see animals dressed up. I did buy a water repellent coat for one of my dogs when he was very young and will admit, he loved wearing it. In the house, he'd go and get and bring it to me to put it on him!

Re: We are not amused

Little Muffin in particular must be kept warm because of the problem with his hip, ChoCho only wears her jumpers when it's really cold. Many dogs wear jackets in winter, after all, most of us have hair on our heads but many people still wear hats !

I have a friend in northern Ontario and her large dog wears boots because her feet freeze to the ice and rip her pads. It isn't always a matter of dressing an animal up, sometimes it's necessary.
