Peter O'Toole

Sadly another great gone ......
Unfortunately I didn't see much of his work, he was outstanding in Murphys War ... Heard tonight of a film 'My Favourite Year' anyone here seen that one ......?
Richard Harris, of the same ilk, was a favourite for me, sadly passed too

Loved him in Lawrence of Arabia! Very sad.

69 years ago today Glenn Miller disappeared.

Re: Peter O'Toole

R.I.P Peter, what a great acting talent he was, from Shakespeare classics to comedy, I loved his Dublin accent in Murphy's War, bang on he was for a Galway man "Ah for jaysus sake missus would yeh ever keep yer trap shut"

I like this quote of his the best. "The only exercise I take is walking behind the coffins of friends who took exercise"

Re: Peter O'Toole

RIP Peter. Although he was born in Ireland he actually came to live in Leeds when he was about 2 or 3 months old. Leeds reckons he is one of our own. His Mum used to work at the GPO in Leeds.
As mentioned he will always be Lawrence of Arabia for me too but he did have a great style for comedy. One of my top 20 films is
What's new Pussycat. That is one to watch if they put it on in memory.
Hilarious with Peter and Peter Sellers and Woody Allen. Could watch that everyday. If you ever feel depressed get that on the DVD.
He was a very handsome man in his youth.
