sky telly

last week we had problems with our telly...the picture kept freezing and we tried all the usual things like unplugging it ..taking out the viewing card...but it was no good...and we've had this problem before...so hubby phoned sky and told them he wanted to cancel the subscription...right away he was put through to the cancellation department where he was offered a new sky plus box and new cable and remote ..free...the guy was here this morning and set it all up for us...now we can record and pause...probably make a few mistakes too as the old brain's not as quick of the mark as it once was...

Re: sky telly

Yes they are quite quick to react to problems only trouble we had when we left them was they won't stop ringing and writing to try and get us to go back to them. Having found we can get everything including recording and playback etc with a freesat box I can't imagine paying for viewing again. Only station we really miss is alibi but we haven't really suffered just missed a couple of shows we used to like.

Re: sky telly

We have satillite TV with no problems until a storm hits between us and the signal station, then it goes out until the storm clears the area. Also have satilite internet. No cable services out here in the country...

I am quite impressed with ours, picture quality is better than sky and it does everything the sky plus box did too. Just pay for the box and the TV is then free. Brilliant !

Re: sky telly

I ditched Sky for the same reasons given by Julie and Patsy - it doesn't make sense to pay over £40 per month for something you can get, by and large, for free.

I would miss Sky 1 & Atlantic, Trollied and Stella, The Middle, Modern Family and the Simpsons etc, all our favourites!

Re: sky telly

We decided even though we would lose 4 well loved programmes the money saving was worth more to us than the programmes. £30 odd a month for 4 shows was just not economic for us.

Re: sky telly

I've only got the basic package, I don't smoke, drink, have holidays or go on outings so it's worth it to me.
