Cameras.

Most of the photos on here are pretty impresive, i use a point and shoot, panasonic lumix dcm fs30, i bought a bridge camera Panasonic fz48 and to be honest i was not too happy with it, the images were often soft and not always very good,my son has it now, please tell me what camera do you use and are you happy with it, i bought the bridge camera hoping to do more artistic photography. choosing a camera within my fairly limited means is a minefield, so many to choose from with new models appearing every year, any help would be appreciated.

Re: Cameras.

I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ10 compact camera which is the one I normally use as it comfortably fits in my pocket. I also have a Nikon 3100 SLR camera which takes much sharper photos but is very bulky with it's 50/200 lens. I don't pretend to know much about photography, I always use the iA mode and let the camera decide on the settings.

Re: Cameras.

I've got a Lumix TZ30 and a Canon EOS 550D DSLR. I've got 3 lenses 18-55mm 70-300mm and a 10-20 wide angle lens.
Happy with both

Re: Cameras.

I've also got a bridge camera a Fuji Finepix. It's OK but I'd like a Cannon or Nikon, my daughter's got a Nikon D50 her grandparents bought her for A'levels, second hand. I attended a course at Bath Uni with a professional photographer who takes photos of the Royals & celebrities, he told us it's not the camera that takes the photo it's the photographer, some of the best photos are taken on cheap cameras or even phones. I believe that's true, but, if I could, I'd like something with a powerful zoom to take wildlife etc.

Re: Cameras.

I have several. I have just brought a new Canon 70d to eventually replace my trusty 400d and have a collection of lenses: 18-55, 50-300, 18-200 and basic 50mm. I also just brought a Lumix DC Vario, which is a 16MP underwater camera when I go on holiday week after next.

I am happy with all of them, but I'm still getting to grips with the 70d.

Re: Cameras.

I have a Canon PowerShot SX40 HS and I love it! I have had 2 previous ones and liked each better then the previous one. The zoom and image stablelization are marvelous. Has many settings other then Auto. I have taken around 2000 photos a year but as it gets harder to get around I am doing less now, but still have that camera in reach all the time.

Re: Cameras.

Blimey my cameras are cheap and nasty compared to these. They are all compacts.

My favourite, and most expensive, is a Canon G10 which I have had for a few years but I also carry a Canon Powershot A490 which I think was only about $70 but takes AA batteries so it is good for travelling and because of its cost you don't care if you lose or damage it.

Years ago in the days of 35mm I had top of the range SLRs but these days I want something small that I can carry in my pocket.

And there is always the phone!

Re: Cameras.

I have the Panasonic FS10 which is always in my pocket, and I have a Panasonic FZ45 bridge camera, and the main one is again a Panasonic, and it's the G3 with a 14mm pancake lens a 14 to 42 lens and the 45 to 200, and I find that they are all very good.

Re: Cameras.

I have a Fuji Finepix, but I am not a photographer, I just use it on auto all the time, shutter speeds and ISO's confuse me.
