Breast Feeding

The government are set to pay new mums £200.00 if they breast feed their newborns, sounds like a daft scheme to me, I wonder if they will be looking for invigilators.

This government is very good.................at daft (and unjust) schemes. In any case, why should they have to bribe mothers to give their babies the best start in life ?

Re: Breast Feeding

Very unfair, mothers who can't do it feel bad enough as it is without this being brought in.

Gracie was too weak when she was born so couldn't feed properly by the time she could the moment had passed and I know my niece felt very guilty at that.

This parliament, in my opinion, are less of a danger to our green & pleasant land when legislating for trivial affairs such as this, rather than important issues, such as governing efectively which they tend to fail at in ever more exquisite & excruitiating ways.

Re: Breast Feeding

Sorry Julie, I should have added "if they can do so". Sheila breast fed our first two but didn't produce enough milk to feed our third child.

Re: Breast Feeding

After the person gets the 200 quid, how are they going to be able to tell who's breast feeding and who's not?

Re: Breast Feeding

Done well you wouldn't even know they were doing in church and the idea God would turn anyone away for feeding a child is quite bizarre really.

Why would your god be shocked Robert better to discretely feed your baby wherever you are surely than to have it screaming.

Re: Breast Feeding

I had two sons and was unable to breastfeed them because I was ill.
My eldest son being premature did get breast milk given to him in
hospital by other Mothers on the ward so he did get some protection.
It wont last long though as there are lots of ways to cheat on doing a breast milk for 6 months and not doing it but filling a form out saying you are?
