Finally my piano is here :)

Well after lots of shenanigans and no explanations from the piano movers, it finally arrived this morning, nearly a month later than planned. I've not had a piano since my house was flooded 13 years ago, and now I'm all excited and have been playing it all afternoon. It will take time to get the fingers going properly again, and they are tired now, but it's still SO pleasurable to be able to sit down and play, even if badly.
Hmmm, guess I won't be getting much done in the house and garden until the novelty wears off...Do I need to ration my music time?

Ah I'm glad you got it at last Ania, may you have hours of pleasure with it, I don't suppose you'll be playing 'Roll out the Barrel' on a posh piano like that.

Brilliant news Ania just the thing to keep you occupied in the cold winter months.

What is your forte .... classical, easy listening, jazz?

I hope you spend many happy hours on your piano ..... but try to spare some time to come on here and let us know how you are getting on

Re: Finally my piano is here :)

I do envy folk who can play the piano. My Gran used to play for the silent movies, my Mum could listen to a tune & just play it! Both my sister's had lessons but I didn't, my (nasty) sister had my Mum's piano in storage for years & it went missing, she's never bothered to get it traced. Hope yours gives you lots of pleasure, give us a tinkle!

Good for you Ania, just enjoy it when you feel like it.
I got one from a pub for nothing, when my children were young.
I am pleased to say 2 out of 3 can play, one by music and one by ear.
Then a couple of years back a lady asked me if I would like a piano, she wanted out quickly, so I got my sone to go round to her home, and he came home with a newish freestanding electric job, not a keyboard on a stand, but a piece of furniture. He plays it a lot when on his earphones so only he can hear it.
Enjoy!

Re: Finally my piano is here :)

It amazes me when people play by ear.
My parents did and mum's brother and sister too!
I had lessons and still can't play - I'm quite jealous of you Ania
That was lucky Arthur.
