Burra

Hi Guys,
We're back...had a nice time up at Burra over the weekend, only took 401 photos, not a lot for me...LOL
The weather was kind apart from a bit of wind on Saturday.
For those who don't know Burra, it's an old mining town north of Adelaide and the mines there produced a lot of the world's copper during the period from the mid to late 1800s.
Here are just a few of my pics which should give you an idea of the place...it was hard work trying to sort 34 pics from the 401.

Re: Burra

The town is actually quite busy for its size...most of my pics were of the old mine areas where there is no activity these days apart from the tourists...
In these modern times it mainly services the farms in the area, there are crops of wheat, canola and other assorted things for miles...also sheep for the wool industry.
The pics of the cottages were taken early one morning, later in the day it's quite a busy area.
This is the actual town taken from the Burra Mine. It's in two areas, north & south Burra.
