October 27th

Forty days to the clock change, any seasonal affective disorder sufferers out there, as a teenager I loved the winter nights, mainly because all the Birds were huddled in the pub like penned sheep , then when this became a non issue I disliked the darkness, nowadays I don't mind the dark nights provided I know the next season is not far off, anyone out there feel SAD at this coming time of year.

I don't like the winter because it's cold and dark - much prefer the sun and lighter nights, not sure if that's because of SAD though.

There's something to be said for all the seasons. There's nothing I like better than going for a walk on a cold but sunny winter's day. Wrap up well and enjoy the fresh air........loverly jubbly !

Re: October 27th

I use to feel sad in the UK winters but here the sky is blue more often than not and much brighter here during the day. I love getting my chores done quickly and lighting the fire on the dark evening to read with a glass of wine, winter goes much faster here ...

Paul I used to love autumn and winter as a child.
I was pondering the other day how the coming winter and the death of another year in my limited lifespan makes me feel increasingly sad .

I think I have a degree of S.A.D too, the dark nights are fine, it is the dark sunless days I hate so much and we seemed to have an endless supply last winter.

Yes, I agree with that Meg. I think last winter dragging on got alot of people down and affected many other things took e.g. birds, plants, and animals re-emerging form hibernation. It's much cheerier to see sunshine even if it is flippin' freezing.

Re: October 27th

It's not so much the dark early bit I don't like, it's the gloom indoors all day, no lights seem to give out enough brightness, sometimes I go to the shops just to be able to see properly!
