It looks nice enough Loretta and the floors rotate, I'm bad enough with heights but with a rotating floor as well, that would really do me in, definitely no.

It looked like a giant Rubik's cube at the beginning!

Interesting but for what purpose ? I once went up the Schilthorn mountain in Switzerland and the restaurant at the top rotates while you are eating.

Re: Would you stay in this hotel?

It looks fascinating. My son reckons Dubai was an amazing place, I've only seen the airport transit lounge.

Remember those times when you drank so much that you had to hang on to the bed as it spun out of control? Well in this building you would have to hang on to the furniture, walls and floor as well.

I was interested to see they build one floor in 6 days, in China they build a tower block in 15 days from start to finish all prefabricated in a factory with wiring, air con and plumbing etc built in - and the building is earthquake proof too.

Ask Billy Butlin, his restaurant on the PO Tower revolved too. I seem to remember it took about 20 minutes to do one revolution so you saw the whole of London during your meal.

Well - seeing as it is in Dubai - NO!

I like the idea though.

Re: Would you stay in this hotel?

At first I thought - nope, I got seasick on a mackrel fishing boat but watching the video, I was rather taken with that as you can control the floor movement yourself. I think that's really clever and innovative.

However, I do have a maxim: the more tech there is on something, the more likely it is to go wrong!
