The Maggie

Remember Para Handy and the crew ? . . in the film "The Maggie" he was drunk and sober 3 times in one day.

When I was a docker we were transferred to Glasgow docks for a week and actually worked on one of these boats, the crew were something else I can tell ya.

I have the film on DVD, . . it's classic.

The Crinnan Canal was a short cut for the puffers to take them to the Hebrides without going round the Mull of Kintyre.

It was a fantastic series on TV, . . they tried to resurrect it with Gregor Fisher but he was'nt the same as old Duncan.

Duncan was in another film you may recall, "Whisky Galore", . . I've got that one too.

You don't know what you've missed folks, . . the dialect may confuse you but it's good clean comedy, . . here's Fulton McKay (the warder in Porridge) he's the minister going to conduct a wedding, . . . maybe.

I hope Brandykins comes on later, she'll love this.

That's one of my faves, . . the wee boy throws a cabbage at the barman and it hits him on the face.
