Vocal fry.

An epidemic, apparently, and something favoured by the likes of the Kardashians. I had to YouTube it to listen to the sound, and realise that yes, actually, it is blimming annoying!!

It was included in a Daily Mail article about women speaking in a baby voice and included other annoyances like uptalking (garhhhhhh!!!!) and vocal fry.

Oh God yes - 'very' annoying !
Does the fry bit mean when they have a slight 'growl' in their voice - Ugh !

I don't know. Never heard of it until this morning, but do know what it sounds like.
