Green Shield Stamps .....

Reading about these today and brought back memories of sticking them in the book and the excitement of filling each book..... I was in my late teens .... Wish they would bring them back

Oh crikey - I'd forgotten those! My Dad always collected them and he'd let me stick them in the book; when the books were filled, off we'd go to choose something! For some reason, that has put a lovely smile on my face thanks for the memory nudge Pats

I remember reading about a chap in our local paper, he stole ten books of green shield stamps and was brought before a judge, the judge gave him 3 months and asked him had he anything to say "Yes your honour, do I get the food mixer as well?".

Yes, I remember green shield stamps, and there were also some pink ones.

Green Sheild stamps were an American company PatsCG, later there were S&H Pink stamps, who were a British company.

quite possibly a rival, not sure when they disappeared but feel they must have been around about the same time.

I suppose the modern day equivalent, are the points you can gain from Nectar, Tesco, Boots etc
