Mobile madness

They are everywhere you go, mobile phones - theres no peace from idle chatter .....
In Sainsburys - a checkout girl asked a customer to switch off the phone before serving her. The customer reluctantly did so, then complained to the manager ! The staff member was given a warning and told to apologize to the customer - the 'customer' isn't always right ......

Re: Mobile madness

Sainsburys has since changed their minds and told the member of staff she will not be disciplined.

I have a mobile (all it does is make phone calls none of the whistles and bells some have) It is always at the bottom of my bag turned off only to surface if we break down or other emergency.

To me it's blooming rude to use one when interacting with another person so in a supermarket turn them off !

Re: Mobile madness

It always puzzles me why people will answer their mobile when they're talking to someone but they wouldn't dream of sitting and having a conversation on a landline if they had visitors - why the difference?

Re: Mobile madness

My granddaughters complain that I don't reply to texts for hours and when I tell them that I'd left the phone at home, they say 'but Nanny, what if you need to use it or we need to get hold of you'! First one is easy - I grew up learning to cope without dragging a phone around with me and the second one, well, sometimes that can be a bit of a blessing
